WHY I STILL PLAY
#1 Orange Idiot
The main reason why I still play this game is because of this idiot...this fool...I am still waiting for part 2 of his story quest urgh....I'm hoping once Snezhnaya is released he'll have more of a spotlight but I have this horrible sinking feeling that older characters are going to get sidelined to promote the newer ones.. (curse of gacha systems) Who knows though maybe they'll prove me wrong, but I always keep my expectations low with this game lmfao
Eventually I'll link a shrine of him here so I can really yap about how great his character is hahaha
#2 Music
Although I will always have my criticisms about this game, the one consistently great aspect about this game is the soundtrack. Every region has a very distinct sound due to the large variety of instruments used to establish the atmosphere in each nation. For Liyue, traditional Chinese instruments are at the front forth of every song (like the Guzheng...my beloved...) and for Natlan, flutes (like the panpipes) and drums (Djembe and talking drum) are used to create an energetic beat.
Even when they all have such unique identities from one another, does the plethora of motifs tie the sound together into a recognizable melody that keeps the music from straying too far from the base game. I genuinely think it's insane they managed to pull this off in all honesty and it's a huge reason why I still play because no other game I've experienced has not only this large of a catalogue, but such a wide variety of sound.

"Evening's Ease" - very bossa nova esque
"The Liyue Romans-Fleuves" - the buildup for this song is so good it makes me shed a tear everytime I listen
"Virelai des marees" - the urgency in the instruments..the metronome in the back...god....
#3 Exploration
I...love exploring......and this game has such beautifully designed environments that I just have to come back every time they release a new area. I also really enjoy the fact that they are always introducing different mechanics in each region. (eg. Fontaine's underwater gimmick and the enhanced mobility with Natlan's nightsoul mechanic) It keeps things fresh and exciting when traversing through each area while also giving them distinguishable traits from one another.
Also, the worldbuilding and lore is???crazy??? They quite literally tie EVERYTHING into the world, the wishing system, the recent buffs, even the forgotten collab with that one character from Horizon Zero. It is kinda funny to see just how dedicated they are to keeping everything canon, but I also appreciate the effort that was put into developing the lore.
